Rejection of a request to increase the price of gas to four dollars by Australian government
July 9, 2020

Australia’s upstream industry opposes the price increase, arguing that prices should remain stable at the moment.
Given that gas prices have been declining over the past two years, producers believe that the increase in gas prices is reasonable given the rise in world prices.
The Australian Petroleum Production and Exploration Association (Appa) said that the average gas price in Australia is much lower than in Asia and the Pacific, according to the International Gas Union (IGU) survey on gas wholesale prices.
